More GC press demo reports
Some more reports from Games Convention Leipzig have been posted on the two German elite fansites Wartower.de and guild-wars.info
If you followed the news you'll already have heard most of it, but still, here's a summary of the facts as a service for those who don't understand German and don't want to decypher Babelfish gibberish. - Two new professions: Dervish and Paragon (well known meanwhile, so I'll skip the details )
- "Heroes": While playing through the storyline the player may unlock "heroes" (party NPCs similar to henchmen). These level up with him and may be equipped with armor, skills, etc of the player's choise. The number of heroes a player may have at a time is limited to 3 in order to encourage "buddygaming" (2 human players with 3 heroes each forming a party of 8) instead of solo play. Heroes may be used in a hero-vs-hero battle (2 human players with 3 heroes each fighting eachother).
- Skills and attributes combined in the same menu (button "K"), with a "Templates" button that wasn't functional yet but shall be used in order to save and load builds in town.
- 20 new missions, 300 new skills, etc
- Traps and riddles in explorable areas
- Monsters may respawn (or feign death?)
- Screen changes to greenish color and gets blurry while under the effect of poison. It is unclear whether a similar effect is applied for other hexes and conditions.
- A special monster skill allows a boss to change his appearance and his profession

Traps and riddles? - I think that would be a much better runner deterent then gates!
Monsters respawning? - Cool idea, might be annoying sometimes during quests where you have to run everywhere.
Screen changes to greenish color and gets blurry? - Hope you can switch that off or something, because that could get really annoying.
That last one? - That's just confusing, I have no idea what it means. Sounds awesome though.

The last one I think he means 'special monster skills'.

It's meant as an extra annoyance effect of poison. If you could turn it off, there's no point adding it.

Not 100% clear that they respawned. They may have been feigning death, as a kind of trap. They were laying dead on the ground like corpses but when the player approached they stood up and attacked. Kinda like ghouls popping up from underground.

The boss fought in the press demo mission was a kind of shapeshifter. It is not clear if this ability is limited to this unique boss, or if it can be used by other creatures of that species, or even other species.
